DAVE BATCHELOR "BATCH"

Years Playing: 30+. I started banging on pots and pans at age 5 which
prompted my parents to purchase a toy drum set for me. From there,
I took private drum lessons as well as piano lessons, and played in
the school band during elementary school, middle school. I was in
every music class I could possibly be in during high school, including
marching band, symphonic band, jazz band, orchestra, pep band and
choir.
First Bands: Growing up in California, I got my first paying gig
at age 13 and played in various rock bands during my high school years.
Post High School Musical Training: After high school, I joined the
Marines and attended the Armed Forces School of Music where I studied
ear training, music theory and had private percussion instruction.
Performances While in the US Marines: I was stationed in Washington
DC as a snare drummer for The United States Marine Drum and Bugle
Corps where I played for Presidents, Heads of State, VIP's and appeared
on TV specials all while traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad.
I finished my military career back at the Armed Forces School of Music
as a percussion instructor.
Previous Bands out of St. Louis: Once out of the Marines, I became
a member of the rock band "Scarborough" out of Northern
Virginia. We recorded several CD's.
Where You Played with Scarborough: We opened up for national acts
like Kansas, Winger, Billy Squire, Night Ranger, John Cafferty and
the Beaver Brown Band, and completed three tours overseas to Germany,
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Korea, Japan, Okinawa, Hawaii and Johnston
Atoll.
Previous Bands in St. Louis: Since moving to St Louis in 1996, I
played with local bands Static Grin, Uptown and NRG. I also taught
drums at Drum Headquarters for 3 years.
Musical Influences: Far too many to name, but suffice it to say,
if it is played with emotion, heart and soul, I dig it.
