Linda's Bio:

LINDA GAAL

Years Singing: 30, no formal training. Talent is God-given especially considering one of my brothers has no voice (he has autism). Started singing at home watching "Solid Gold" and then in church at the ripe age of eight.

Member of Former Bands: Shrinking Violets (first band, 1995), SQuiNT (While UV was on a break from 1998 until 2000), Radio Iodine (back in 1997, went touring with them for one month only, singing backup), The Linda Gaal Band (search for mp3s on www.garageband.com), and The UltraViolets since 1996.

Once Performed With: Christina Aguilera, KC and the Sunshine Band, Tone Loc, Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, Live, Ralph Butler, Frankie Fontana at a Karaoke bar and more.

Musical Influences: Dido, Maroon 5, Sheila Nicholls, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, The Outfield, Aldo Nova, Radio Iodine, U2 and that crazy show "American Idol".

In the CD Player Now: Nothing, I listen to talk radio! Mostly sports and news.

Day Job: Sr. Client Service Lead for a Search Engine Marketing firm.

Favorite St. Louis Hang Outs: Home. There's no place like it. TJ's Wings.

Causes and Concerns: Assisting with missing kids and violent crime cases; assisting with aid to victims of crime. I frequent www.websleuths.com. I also support the Humane Society.

In Free Time, Enjoys: St. Louis Cardinals baseball,  Lifetime Movie Network (my movie's on!), crime sleuthing, Web surfing, fine dining (Italian, Mexican or Steaks/grills only… no seafood or Chinese!), wine, fondue, trivia, games and good conversation. I love animals, especially dogs. Please refrain from sending gifts! Donate in our name to the Humane Society :)

Favorite Drinks: Vodka/Tonic with a lime, wine and champagne. I also love Coca-Cola, Ice-cream sodas, coffee and iced tea! The best though is WATER I love water!

Surprising things about me: I've never taken illegal substances and I don't smoke! I'm left-handed. I've never been married. I've never tried out for American Idol, but I wanted to; I am too old! I am Hungarian/Austrian. My original major in college was meteorology/atmospheric sciences. I was voted "class clown" in high school. My idea of a nice weekend is staying home, watching movies with all of my puppy dogs and my fiance Eddie while surfing the web reading news, and hoping to help attain media coverage for a missing child.

Shout Outs: My last bio named soooooo  many people. There were many  people I accidentally left out, as well as some people  I don't even see or know any more! So, I just decided to say thank you to all those who have been a great friend. Thank you for being supportive of our band, our music, our passion and to me, personally ... because running a band is not easy and especially being a female. Thank you to all of our friends and fans. Thank you for being a part of my life. And thank you for allowing me to be a part of yours!
